A 6.5-magnitude quake has been registered...
The quake occurred at 00:27 GMT, its epicenter was located at the depth of 21.7 km (13.5 miles), some 43 km (27 miles) west of the city of Ferndale.
The Los Angeles Times said there were reports of minor damage with "minor glass breakage, some gas mains affected and some power lines down," but no immediate reports of casualties.
Several aftershocks were also registered in the area.
